Funny triangular ashtray of French origin, dating back to the 1950s-1960s. Branded on the bottom «Made in France» and «56», the accessory, in cream milk glass, shows on the long sides the red trademark «DUBONNET», historical Parisian business (nowadays a property of the Pernod Ricard Group) specialized in producing the homonymous spicy vermouth, developed in 1846 by chemist Joseph Dubonnet (1818-1871), on a government call for proposals, as an expedient to make the taste of quinine more pleasant for the soldiers of the French Foreign Legion, being the bark - at the time - an essential weapon against North-African malaria.
