Interesting educational booklet of the series «Eroi e avventure della nostra guerra» («Heroes and adventures of our war»), dedicated to life and war feats of Royal Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica Italiana) second lieutenant Achille Zezon (1918-1942), Gold Medal of Military Valor. Narrated by Federico Frezzan, himself an aviator and popular author of propaganda biographies, the short but intense human parabola of Zezon is reconstructed with detail and participation, from the Milanese days as an engineering student to the voluntary enlistment in the Air Force, from the struggles for the assignment to a fighting unit of torpedo bombers to the heroic self-sacrifice during the bloody Operation Harpoon (Battaglia di mezzo giugno), on 15 June 1942, that earned him, in memoriam, the highest of military honors. Enriched by the marvellous illustrations by Latini, the booklet is sold, except for a small fold at front cover low angle, some foxing on spine, edges and back cover, and an out of text tear at page 47 low angle – see photos -, in very good general conditions.
