“Stuttgarter Hofbräu” Stoneware Beer Stein / Mug - 1 Liter - '40s-'50s
Nice “Stuttgarter Hofbräu” beer stein, of German or West German production, dating back to the 1940s-1950s. Manufactured, according to tradition, in stoneware, the mug, of cylindrical shape, has a capacity of 1 liter, and is provided with a wide handle. Bierkrüge as this one are still nowadays customized by producers, and supplied to pubs and festivals to serve their own beverages, for advertising purposes. Not showing any breaks, the article for sale bears, printed on the side - though slightly discolored at its lower part -, the trademark of the renowned Stuttgarter Hofbräu brewery of Stuttgart, born in 1872 from the fusion of the former Franciscan brewery of St. Luzen with the Zum Englischen Garten (“At the English Garden”) one of Stuttgart, later become official beer provider of the Royal House of Württemberg, and still running today under the ownership of Radeberger Group; down, right above the base, the complete business name is repeated in Gothic characters - «Stuttgarter Hofbräu AG». Despite the signs of time, and some horizontal halos on the body, the item is sold in good general conditions - a real bargain for all beer maniacs!
